Well we needed some food after hiking the Cunningham Falls trail. We drove in the little town of Thurmont MD and fired up our Yelp app. We scrolled thru all the restaurants and nothing caught our eye. As we looked up from the phone screen we see that we had parked directly in front of the Thurmont Bar and Grill. My wife was a little skeptical but I forged ahead. Have to say the place was actually pretty good. Nice little bar with a football on the flatscreen and a pool table. The menu was pretty simple but the food was good. The owner and his wife were there sitting at the bar and welcomed us in and took our order personally. The local bar crowd was there as it was a Sunday afternoon in prime football season. The place is decorated in sports memorabilia and looks like it is right out of the 1970's Very clean and pleasant place. Restrooms were nice and everything was good in our visit. Just remember to take cash as that's all they take.

What this place lacks in atmosphere and friendly service it makes up for in food and prices. I recommend the cheeseburger. Nothing fancy, just perfectly good. My friend had the hot dog and fresh cut fries. Both were great.
Cash only.
Serves breakfast too.
Pool table.
